The cathedral lies at the corner of Green Street and Van Ness Avenue (Highway 101). When approaching from the south, it is usually faster to take Franklin Street (one block west of Van Ness) after exiting the freeway.
Parking is always a problem, since HTC does not have a parking lot. Street parking is usually hard to find, especially for evening services.
For special services and events, parking information will be noted on the schedule of services whenever possible.

A bit farther away, you can usually find free street parking at the north end of Van Ness Ave, at Aquatic Park or nearby at Fort Mason. It's a 15-minute walk from there to the cathedral, and city buses operate on this route every few minutes.
