The news of the repose
of the Right Reverend Nestor on June 30, was received by the Consistory on
August 2/14; therefore, the hierarchıs salary for July was returned to the Consistory.
The Rt. Reverend
Nestorıs receipts for the four-monthsı salary received by him are on file. His salary for three other months was
given, by the Rt. Rev. Nestorıs proxy of 4/19 April 1882 No 72, to the Archpriest
V. Vechtomov with receipts.
to the

rubles, or two thousand four hundred and twenty-three dollars and ninety-six
cents.

Priest A[lexander] Dilichensky, as his salary and housing allowance, 1,377

dollars and forty-eight cents. In total, for the position of the second
reader, was given 1,084 rubles, or eight hundred thirty-four dollars and
sixty-eight cents.
As supplementary salary to
one of the ecclesiastics who is conducting Spiritual Consistory business,
to the
acting office manager of the Consistory Michael Mstislavsky was given 343
rubles, or two hundred sixty-four dollars and eleven cents.
For the hired servants,
watchman, for office supplies, etc., 1,360 rubles was spent.
For the rent of a
mailbox, the post office was paid nine dollars and forty cents.
For postage to various
addresses, on behalf of the Rt. Reverend Nestor and the Consistory, of both
insured and unregistered packages, was paid nineteen dollars and six cents.
For the annual rent of a
Safe Deposit box, where the
Consistoryıs cash is being kept, was paid fifty dollars.
To Denaveaux and
Maison for port sent to churches
in Unalaska, Nushigak, Belkofsky, Kodiak, Kenai, St. Paul Island, and Kwipach,
10 gallons per church, and to churches in Nazan, 5 gallons, and St. George
Island, 2 gallons, total 77 gallons for $3 per gallon, paid two hundred and
thirty-one dollar.
For the four icons on the
San Francisco Cathedralıs Royal Doors, painted on zinc with gold, textured
background, was sent to the office of the Metachromotype of Rakochi, Sidorsky
and Co. fifty-eight dollars.
The icons were ordered per
the instruction of the Rt. Rev. Nestor of 8/20 April 1882 No. 76. Per decision
of the Consistory of 14/20 June, was sent to the firm of Rakochi, Sidorsky and
Co. for these icons from the personal funds of the Rt. Rev. Nestor, at his
wish, 50 dollars and from the funds of the Consistory, 25 dollars. On September
11, 1882, the Metachromotype notified the Consistory by its memo No. 1215 of
the receipt of this $75, which were in St. Petersburg equaled to 150 rubles,
and requested another 62 rubles in bank-notes to be sent for the icons. To
liquidate this debt, the Consistory on November 20/December 2 sent a draft for
33 dollars, which equaled 6 pound and 8 shillings. On December 24, 1882, by No.
2600 the office notified the Consistory of the receipt of the said draft adding
that this draft was not yet credited.
Upon receipt of the icon of
the Holy Queen Alexandra, donated to the church in San Francisco by Lieutenant Manzurov,
was paid via Wells Fargo Company, for customs duty and shipping, 11 dollars and
95 cents.
Upon receiving the sad
news of the Rt. Rev. Nestorıs repose, the church in San Francisco was draped
outside in black calico and inside in crepe, silk ribbons and flowers, for
which was spent eighty-two dollars and seventy cents: for 18 yards of
narrow crepe, $13.50; for 5 5/8 yards of wide silk crepe, $14; for a piece of
wide silk ribbon, $8.50; for 18 yards of narrow ribbon, $3.25; for the labor of
draping the church on the outside including decoratorıs materials, $22.75; for
fresh flowers, $20; for nails, thread, etc., 70 cents, in total: eighty-two
dollars and seventy cents.
For two telegrams sent on
June 15/27 and June 26/8 to the lord Ober-Procurator of the Holy Synod
regarding the suspension of Priest [Alexander] Dilichenskyıs salary and
issuance to him of a travel allowance; for a June 17/29 telegram to the lord
Ober-Procurator of the Holy Synod informing of the intention of the Rt. Rev.
Nestor [to spend] the winter in Kwikpack; for two telegrams of August 2/14
— to the lord Ober-Procurator and the Most Reverend Metropolitan Isidor
— notifying them of the repose of the Rt. Rev. Nestor; and for a telegram
of 14/26 October with the notification that, according to the telegraph report,
the body of the Rt. Rev. Nestor was found; in total, for 6 telegrams, one
hundred and twenty-four dollars and eight cents.
To the Gas Light Company
for gas illumination of the rectory in 1882 two hundred and thirty-two dollars
and 30 cents.
