TOLSTOY SATISFIED.
Church Authorities Merely Prohibit Orthodox Funeral
When He Dies.
NEW YORK, October 1.—
Answering a query whether he had been excommunicated from the Greek Church by
the Russian Patriarch, Count Tolstoi cables:
"TULA (Russia), September
29.— Not excommunicated, but prohibition to give orthodox funeral to my
dead body, which prohibition meets my wishes. TOLSTOI."
