Orthodox Endeavorers Inaugurate Benefit For Congregation

The annual bazaar for the benefit of the Russian church, given under the auspices of the Ladies’ Orthodox Endeavor society, opened yesterday afternoon in the vestry rooms of the Russian church at Van Ness avenue and Green streets. The fair will continue until tonight at midnight.

On the reception committee for the bazaar was the president of the society, Mrs. L. Acimovich, who was assisted by Miss E. Janis, Mrs. N. Obradovich, Mrs. N. Baida, Mrs. Edward Hurlburt, Miss Annie Jancovich, Miss Sonia Shavina, Miss Julia Jancovich and Miss Olga Jancovich and Mrs. Theodore Pashkovsky. Mrs. N. Metropolsky, vice president of the organization, was in charge of the tea tables; Mrs. Spiro Fucosuolievich presided over the ice cream booth and the fancy work tables were under the supervision of Mrs. Otto Schroeder, Mrs. Constantine and Mrs. J. Golcovich.

During the evening a musical and literary program was rendered. Mrs. Richard Reese, Miss Fritch, Miss Nathalia Metroposky, Miss Ida Magnin, Miss Vivian Radovich and N. Shanovosky sang. N. Pochernokoff rendered a solo on the balacker, a Russian instrument; Miss Von der Mahden gave a reading and Miss Lybov Bujannoff a piano solo.

The evening ended with dancing.
