RUSSIAN PRIEST TO BE ARRESTED
The Rev. Vasily Dvornikoff, temporary pastor of the Russian Orthodox Cathedral of San Francisco, who has been indicted by the County Grand Jury on the charge of stealing $19,000 belonging to the Rev. V. V. Alexandrof, permanent pastor of the cathedral, has been arrested in Buenos Aires, according to a report made to Presiding Judge Graham yesterday by Assistant District Attorney A.B. Bianchi.
The indictment against Dvornikoff was returned to Judge Graham yesterday by the County Grand Jury.
Bianchi, who represents the District Attorney before that body, said that the indictment was being returned because the decamping priest had been apprehended.
Subsequently the Police Department said this was incorrect. The police admit having received a clew that Dvornikoff was en route to Buenos Aires, and that the necessary steps had been taken for his apprehension, but thus far he had not been arrested.
