Telephone calls were received from His Beatitude THEODOSIUS, Archbishop of Washington, Metropolitan of All America and Canada, and Protopresbyter Robert S. Kondratick, Chancellor of the Orthodox Church in America.
Today, the parish was blessed by the visit of the Right Reverend TIKHON, Bishop of San Francisco and the West. His Grace inspected the damage at the Cathedral and blessed the reconstruction work. Bishop TIKHON noted that 1998 will be remembered as the year Holy Trinity Cathedral was saved by a miracle from a major fire.
Messages were also received from the Right Reverend BASIL, Titular Bishop of Enfeh al-Koura (Antiochian Archdiocese), and many other reverend clergy and laity from around the United States and the world.
At this time, nothing further is reported about the cause of the blaze. Insurance officials and contractors are working with the Parish Council to restore the temple and other parish spaces in a timely manner.
