SLAYER OF PETROVICH FOUND GUILTY BY JURY
Vido Opusich Must Suffer the Penalty for Murder in the Second Degree.
The jury in the case of Vido Opusuch, who shot and killed John Petrovich at the corner of Pacific and Stockton street on June 10 of the last year, found the defendant guilty of murder in the second degree after several hours of deliberation last night. The trial was conducted in Judge Lawlors court.
Opusich and Petrovich had some trouble two weeks before the date of the murder and in a struggle the former was scarred. The injured man brooded over his misfortune of being marked for life and followed his assailant for two weeks waiting for an opportunity to kill him.
On the fatal Sunday night in sight of four policemen he shot his victim in the back of the head.
Opusich will be sentenced next Saturday.
