The Russian cruiser Lena sailed out to sea at noon yesterday, bound for Vladivostok. In a coat of white, and with yellow smokestacks the Lena presented a handsome picture as she passed out. Nobody would have taken her for the black and dismal thing that crept in through the Golden Gate fourteen months ago, afraid of Japanese was ships and anxious for the safety of a neutral port. As she passed down the bay yesterday the Lena was one of the handsomest vessels ever seen in this harbor.
