Matters of Interest to the Clergy and Laity

The vesper services which were held last evening at 7 o’clock in the new Orthodox Russian Church, just completed on Van Ness avenue and Green street, were a prelude to the dedication ceremonies to be solemnized this morning. The celebration of mass will follow the services, which begin at 10:30 o’clock. The celebrant will be Very Rev. Sebastian Dabovich, Archimandrite of the Servian churches of the Pacific Coast, who will be assisted by the pastor of the church, Rev. Theodore Pashkovsky.

The new edifice, which is attractively ecclesiastical in finish, takes the place of the house of worship which formerly stood on Powell street, near Union. The site of the present church was purchased some time ago, but it was only since the fire that the construction of the new building was undertaken. Father Pashkovsky has been for a number of years in charge of the congregation, which is devout to him.
